Our Values

Transparency and a participatory approach have remained the core values of Sabhagi Vikas. Over the years, Sabhagi Vikas has strengthened meaningful community participation in planning, implementation, monitoring, social audit and decision-making processes, ensuring that development initiatives are inclusive, accountable and responsive to community needs.

Foundation of Sabhagi Vikas

Established as a public charitable trust with a simple commitment to work with rural and tribal communities and strengthen their ability to shape their own development.

02

Beginning the SHG Journey

Formation and strengthening of Self-Help Groups, particularly among women, created spaces for savings, mutual support, confidence-building and collective action.

03

Women’s Empowerment and Gender Justice

Over the years, Sabhagi Vikas's work expanded from economic empowerment to women’s rights, dignity, equality and freedom from violence. The organization's continuing message is: “Together, we can end all violence against women and girls.”

04

Livelihoods for Sustainable Self-Reliance

Livelihood promotion became a central pillar through agriculture, nursery raising, organic farming, livestock, skill development, credit linkages, LEDP/MEDP and collective enterprise, helping families move towards greater economic security.

05

Emergence of Women Farmers and Community Leaders

Women supported through livelihood programmes increasingly emerged as farmers, entrepreneurs and community leaders, demonstrating that economic empowerment can also strengthen voice and participation.

06

Promotion of Farmer Collectives

Formation and promotion of Sahbhagi Krishak Utpadak Samitee marked an important step towards collective farming, better access to services and markets, and stronger economic participation of small farmers.

07

Health and Nutrition as a Community Priority

Sabhagi Vikas's grassroots work has consistently addressed maternal and child health, nutrition, immunisation, VHND participation, health check-ups, institutional delivery, referral services and access to essential health facilities.

08

Child Protection and Child Well-being

Child protection became an important area of work, including awareness on child marriage, child rights, protection from violence, family welfare, early childhood care, education and nutrition.

09

Early Childhood Care and Nutrition

Community-based pre-school initiatives and nutrition support for young children strengthened the organization's focus on giving children a healthy and supportive beginning in life.

10

Strengthening Local Democracy

Work with Gram Sabha and Panchayati Raj Institutions has remained central to Sabhagi Vikas's grassroots approach, encouraging people to participate in planning, decision-making, monitoring and raising issues affecting their villages.

11

People’s Access to Rights and Entitlements

Sabhagi Vikas increasingly worked not only to create awareness but to help people actually access their entitlements and public services, including ration cards, Ayushman Cards, Aadhaar, e-Shram and other social-security provisions.

12

Community Women as Change Agents

An important outcome of this journey has been seeing women come forward as community facilitators, helping vulnerable families access entitlements and actively participating in Gram Sabha and Panchayat-level meetings.

13

Safe Migration and Protection of Vulnerable Workers

In a region where migration is an important livelihood reality, Sabhagi Vikas has worked on safe migration, counter-trafficking, workers’ rights and social security, including focused work with domestic workers.

14

Building Community Accountability

The work of Sabhagi Vikas increasingly emphasises that public services must reach people effectively. Community participation in monitoring health, nutrition, education, social protection and local development services has therefore become an important part of the organization's approach.

Securing statutory registrations including 12A, 80G and FCRA strengthened the organisation’s institutional foundation, accountability and ability to sustain its development work.
