Livelihood Promotion and Sustainable Farming
Promoting diversified, sustainable and income-generating livelihood activities for rural women, small and marginal farmers.
Livelihood Promotion & Sustainable Farming
Livelihood promotion is an important area of Sabhagi Vikas work, particularly for rural women, small and marginal farmers and vulnerable households. In the rural areas, limited livelihood opportunities, dependence on seasonal agriculture, low productivity and inadequate access to markets and financial services are major challenges. To address these needs, Sabhagi Vikas is promoting diversified, sustainable and income-generating livelihood activities at the community level.
The organization is facilitating livelihood activities such as vegetable cultivation, millet and groundnut cultivation, moringa plantation, and production and use of bio-fertilizers and bio-pesticides. These activities are helping community members diversify their income sources, improve farm productivity and make better use of locally available resources.
