Health and Nutrition Related Activities

Sabhagi Vikas focuses on improving access to essential health, nutrition and social protection services for mothers, children and vulnerable community members through awareness, community participation, regular monitoring and referral support.

Key Health & Nutrition Activities
Mother and Child Health Care: Creating awareness among women and families on maternal and child health, antenatal and postnatal care, institutional delivery, breastfeeding, immunization, nutrition and other essential health practices.
Participation in VHND and Health Check-ups: Regular participation in Village Health, Sanitation and Nutrition Days (VHND) and supporting communities in accessing regular health check-ups and other health services.
Monitoring Child Nutrition: Regular monitoring of the nutritional status and nutrition grades of children, identification of malnourished children and facilitating appropriate counselling, treatment and referral services.
Folic Acid, Vaccination and Maternal Care: Promoting timely intake of folic acid and other required supplements, ensuring complete vaccination of children and pregnant women, and creating awareness on the importance of institutional delivery.
Referral and Follow-up Services: Facilitating timely referral of mothers and children requiring specialized care, including serious and high-risk cases to appropriate health facilities and MNTC (Malnutrition Treatment Centre) wherever required, along with follow-up support.
Availability and Functioning of Health Centres: Promoting timely opening and regular functioning of health centres and monitoring the availability of required medicines, health personnel and other essential health facilities.
Community Monitoring through Gram Sabha/PRIs: Encouraging Gram Sabha and Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) to monitor the regular functioning of health centres, availability of medicines and quality of health services, and to raise gaps with the concerned authorities.
Health Entitlement and Disability Services: Conducting campaigns and facilitating access to Ayushman Cards, ABHA Cards and Divyang Certificates, particularly for vulnerable and needy community members.
Identification and Referral of Cataract Patients: Supporting communities in the identification of persons suffering from cataract and facilitating their referral to appropriate health facilities for examination, treatment and surgery.
Community Awareness and Linkages: Strengthening community awareness, participation and linkages with government health and social security services so that eligible families can access timely and quality healthcare.
