Promotion of Local Governance
Strengthening Gram Sabha participation, Panchayati Raj Institutions, women and youth leadership in local decision-making.
Local Governance
Sahbhagi Vikas strengthens women’s participation in Local Governance by building their awareness, leadership, and engagement in Gram Sabha, Panchayat, and block-level governance processes. The organization empowers women to understand their rights, raise community issues, and actively contribute to local decision-making.
Women leaders and community facilitators supported by the organization mobilize citizens for Gram Sabha meetings, advocate for community needs, and help vulnerable families access government schemes and essential documents. Through this process, Sahbhagi Vikas is strengthening transparency, accountability, and inclusive governance at the grassroots level.
Panchayati Raj Institutions
Strong and participatory local institutions are essential for responsive and accountable grassroots development. Sahbhagi Vikas is working to strengthen Panchayati Raj Institutions, Gram Sabha, Mahila Sabha, Yuva Sabha and community-based organizations (CBOs) through awareness, capacity building and facilitation.
Sahbhagi Vikas is also promoting strong coordination and dialogue between the Gram Sabha and Panchayati Raj Institutions, particularly in the preparation and implementation of the Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) and addressing village-level development priorities.
